How to Look After Your Wrapped Car

The short answer

Hand wash with a soft mitt and a pH-neutral shampoo, and avoid automatic brush car washes. Clean off bird droppings, tree sap and fuel spills as soon as possible, dry with a clean microfibre towel, and park in shade or under cover where you can. Never use wax or polish on matte or satin wraps.

A professionally fitted wrap is durable, but a little care goes a long way. Here’s how to keep yours looking its best for years.

Hand wash, don’t brush

Avoid automatic brush car washes - they can scratch and lift edges. Hand wash with a soft mitt and a pH-neutral shampoo, rinsing thoroughly to remove grit before you touch the surface.

Deal with contaminants quickly

Bird droppings, tree sap and fuel spills should be removed as soon as possible - left on the surface they can stain vinyl. A warm damp cloth usually does the job.

Dry and store smart

Pat dry with a clean microfibre towel to avoid water spots. Where possible, park in shade or under cover - prolonged UV exposure shortens the life of any wrap, especially on horizontal panels.

Matte and satin finishes

Never apply waxes or polishes to matte or satin wraps - they’ll create shiny patches. Use products specifically designed for wrapped vehicles instead.
